What is the difference between the two conversations? In either case, is anything resolved? Why or why not? How does Yossarian's role change depending on who he is talking to? Finally, from what you've read so far, what do most of the other characters think about Yossarian and conversely what does he think about most of them? Do these two conversations perhaps hint at why these feelings have been formulated?
The first conversation between Yossarian and Orr was Yossarian was tryin to be all proper, and make it seem like he didn't care about the situation. He made it seem like all he cared about was not going back to war again . In the conversation between Yossarian and Cleninger, Cleninger seemed to actually care about the war. Cleninger seem like he was very sensative about even talking about the war. I don't think that either of the conversation were resloved because they both where worried about their own problems to even listen to each other. Yossarian character change because he was like the narrator than a character. People think that jehovas witness, but Yossariam think that they are crazy. Yes the conversations hints at why they feelings have been formulate, because he has lead lots of people so that will give reason to believe that he could be jehovas witness.
I think Colonel Cargill meant that men from the other countries are only here to kill people and win the war. Soldiers are not trying to befriend you only to kill you. They just want the war to be over so they can go home to their families.

Class Work

Paradox- A statement that expresses a possible truth.

Catch 22- A no win situation or to be in a double bind.

In the first story G. K. Chesterton talks about how self-educated people think to much of education. The paradox is that we as people can make it without education, but society education is what we need to succeed. I believe that we do need all the education that we can get. You can't get a job now without having a education. Self-educated people should continue to worry about education, because we need it to make it in today life.

In the second story John Steinbeck talks about how we contradict ourselfs about how overbearing the government seems, but we try to speard it all over the world. The parabox is that Americans complain about their government, but yet still trys to teach other people their way of doing things. He talks about how we feel that our governtment has no problem and is great, but we have homeless people and people suffering from not having a job. I believe that is our government was so great that we wouldn't have those problems and we should make a change so that we could spread it.

Phenomenal Woman Thats Me

PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret liesI'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion sizeBut when I start to tell them They think I'm telling lies. I say It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips The stride of my steps The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please And to a man The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees Then they swarm around me A hive of honey bees. I say It's the fire in my eyes And the flash of my teeth The swing of my waist And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
Men themselves have wondered What they see in me They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. I say It's in the arch of my back The sun of my smile The ride of my breasts The grace of my style. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
Now you understand Just why my head's not bowed I don't shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say It's in the click of my heels The bend of my hair The palm of my hand The need for my care. 'Cause I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
